FISHER QUARRY

Fisher Quarry is a reclamation project at a quarry that began operations in 1881. Much of the early rock from the quarry went to Gray’s Harbor Jetty and the Columbia River Jetties. We are reclaiming the quarry by moving approximately 475,000 cubic yards of material. This will facilitate the next development of the quarry into a mixed-use commercial, residential, and industrial community.

Transforming the open 98-acre quarry into a suitable development has meant moving a lot of earth and rock. We were able to blast in several locations to get rock moved out of tough areas. We love watching the migration of a rough, historical, depleted resource site as it once again becomes valuable to our community through the various businesses, green spaces and other facilities that it will become.
